Mark has lived in Broxbourne, Herts. for over 30 years. Following a successful career in public service he was elected to Broxbourne Borough Council in 2006. Mark was Vice Chairman of Community Services from 2007-10 and deputy mayor from 2009-10; becoming Mayor of the Borough in 2010.
He was Cabinet Member for Finance, 2012-14 and elected Leader of the Council in 2014. Mark is also a County Councillor for Hertfordshire, elected in 2013. He represents the county on the Local Access Forum on rural matters, Hertfordshire Music Forum and a member of the Highways and Health Prevention cabinet panels.
He is Chairman of the Ambition Broxbourne Economic Board and an Ambassador for ‘teens unite fighting Cancer’. He supports various other charities, has a keen interest in the arts and champions Heritage and Culture of the borough.
