Liverpool’s finest restaurants encouraged to share the glory of Klopp’s Red Army

On the day after the greatest ever comeback in Champions League Football restaurants across Liverpool are being encouraged to share in the global focus that will be on the city over the next few weeks.


Under the Leadership of Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool’s amazing 4 – 0 demolition of Barcelona will see them heading towards their 9th Champions League Final against all the odds.  


Following that amazing victory diners across the city are being encouraged to support their favourite Restaurant this May by nominating them for a brand new high profile national business award.


The widely recognised SME National Business Awards have announced a brand new category of Restaurant of the Year for 2019. It will include a Public Vote ensuring loyal customers everywhere can have a say in their favourite restaurant being recognised on the national stage by visiting http://bit.ly/SMENominate


“We know that of the over 1,000 Restaurants in Liverpool so many of them will be celebrating over the coming weeks as Liverpool head to the Champions League Final in Madrid on the 1st June.” said Damian Cummins, Director of the SME National Business Awards. “We want the amazing success of the city’s team under the leadership of Jurgen Klopp to be felt across businesses. Therefore this is a great opportunity for Liverpool’s Restaurants to celebrate their own authentic, high quality and passionate service to local people.”

Now is the time to ensure those restaurants are recognised on a national stage alongside the football giants from Anfield Road.” Damian continued. “That is why we are proud to have Restaurant of the Year as a fundamental part of our awards in 2019.”


Independent restaurants are being encouraged the enter but those establishments who are part of a franchise or chain can also take part with a focus of the awards being venues where the brand name brings people in and keeps customers coming back time and time again.


“Restaurant visitors spend somewhere in the region of £88 billion every year.” Damian said. “The best Restaurants in Liverpool are the ones where people know what they are getting when they step through the door – quality food and a high standard of customer service.”


“The winners of this prestigious award will provide an exceptional all-round dining experience as standard and we can’t wait to hear and wait to celebrate of the wonderful offering people want to share.”


Restaurant of the Year will form part of the 4 public vote categories at the SME National Business Awards 2019 which also includes Best Customer Service, Pub of the Year and Coffee Shop of the Year.


Each nomination in the public vote categories will be required to fill out an application form to complete their entry with independent businesses, franchises, and branches of larger businesses permitted to enter the public vote categories.


The competition is open to all businesses nationally who commenced business before January 2019.


Entry into the Public Vote categories is FREE, although an entry form must be completed.


Scores in the Public Vote categories will be determined by both the entry form (75%) and number of public votes (25%).
